Music

I am a graduate of Exeter University where my first study was piano. My main musical activities now are singing, teaching and choral conducting.

Singing

I sing as a deputy (or ‘dep’) with the choirs of Bristol Cathedral, Wells Cathedral, Gloucester Cathedral and The Serlo Consort. I sing full time with Bristol’s accomplished chamber choir The Exultate Singers.

Directing and conducting

I direct my own choir, Cantores Literati and often deputise rehearsals for other choirs including the Cabot choir and Exultate.  In 2009 I received a diploma in choral conducting with ABCD.

In March 2010 I shall be conducting the orchestra for a week’s performances of West Side Story with Bristol Amateur Operatic Society.

Playing

I am the accompanist (or ‘repetiteur’ if you must) for the Bristol Cabot Choir. Sometimes I have the pleasure of rehearsing them whilst Ben is away.

And after a nine-year break, I have recently resumed piano lessons myself, and learn with Olena Shvetsova, who is teaching me some technique for the first time in my life!

Teaching

I teach piano and music theory to teenagers and young adults in the Clifton area of Bristol.
